Columbus First Christian Baptist
Meet Our Pastor
Pastor Jeremy Kamer
Welcome! I'm Pastor Jeremy Kamer, and I am blessed to serve as the pastor of Columbus First Christian Baptist Church. I have had the privilege of pastoring this congregation since 2007, and throughout those years, one thing has remained at the heart of my ministry: helping people come to know Jesus Christ, grow in their relationship with Him, and discover what it means to follow Him in everyday life.
I believe the church is more than a building or a place we gather on Sundays. It is a family of believers who worship together, encourage one another, share life's joys and challenges, and seek to make a difference in the world around them. My desire is for Columbus First Christian Baptist to be a place where people of all ages and backgrounds can encounter the truth of God's Word, experience genuine Christian fellowship, and find opportunities to serve.
My passion is preaching and teaching the Word of God in a way that is faithful to Scripture, understandable, and applicable to everyday life. I believe that the truths of the Bible are just as relevant today as they have ever been, and that genuine faith should shape not only what we believe, but how we live.
My Story
Outside of church, my greatest joy is my family. My wife and I are blessed with four wonderful children: Josie, Ezra, Merrie, and Livie. Life in our home is rarely quiet, especially with our collection of pets that includes a Great Dane, a Boston Terrier, a rabbit, and a leopard gecko!
My family is an important part of who I am, and being a husband and father continually reminds me of the importance of grace, patience, love, and finding joy in the everyday moments of life.
In addition to serving as pastor, I have the privilege of serving as the General Superintendent of the Christian Baptist Association, a fellowship of 22 churches based in southern Ohio. This ministry allows me to encourage other pastors and congregations as we work together to advance the cause of Christ.
Education has also been a significant part of my calling. I currently serve as the Academic Director of Trailblazer Academy at Ohio Christian University and have spent many years teaching Bible, theology, and other subjects to students from middle school through college.
My academic journey has included studies at Ohio Christian University, Wesley Biblical Seminary, Wesley Seminary, Andersonville Seminary, and Indiana Wesleyan University, where I completed my Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership.
While I am grateful for these opportunities and experiences, I believe that the most important lessons in ministry are often learned through serving others, remaining faithful to God's Word, and trusting the Lord one day at a time.
